DMS Coach Certification
This training methodology helps to develop the neuromuscular system; educating the muscles and the nervous system not only on how to move, but how fast to move thereby enhancing athletic performance alongside an emphasis on injury prevention and movement re-education.
In this core module, you will learn how to coach individuals and groups of various ages and abilities using the Dynamic Movement Skills™ training methodology - from 5 year-olds to elite athletes.
The programme works through a series of game related movements through which participants develop and eventually perfect a variety of motor skills that help them with balance, rhythm, coordination and agility. These core skills in turn help them with running, functional movement and speed in sport.
This course will take a unique and functional approach and will focus on movement re-patterning and stimulating the neuromuscular system. Learn how to progress the patient or athlete through motor control, movement re-patterning, and movement re-education. The DMS Rehabilitation methodology has been developed to progress the patient or athlete through a series of movements designed to correct the “transmission” time and firing sequence within the CNS, correct movement patterns and improve functional movement.
Through a series of functional exercises the movement patterns are re-educated, the kinetic chain is re-built and the proprioceptive system is re-trained. The movements are progressive from simple to advanced patterns and from low level to high level. Attendees will cover basic movement re-education to functional neuromotor stimulation, to Dynamic Movement development..
Attendees will also learn 2 movement assessment tools. The Functional Movement Analysis and the Dynamic Functional Analysis in order to help determine which movements to prescribe to patients.
It is a very practical-based course with lots of physical participation in order that applicants can fully understand the correct technique and physical effects of the movements.
DMS Kids Movement Coach
We believe that walking, running and multi-directional movement are important “Life skills” that are not taught in schools. We need to teach children good movement skills and then re-teach them better movement as they grow and develop. It’s not just for the kids that do sport, its movement for ALL!
This course is for coaches & teachers who want to teach Movement Education, Motor Skill Development and Running Technique to young people.
Based on 20 years of research and coaching experience, this course covers both the theoretical and practical application of what to observe, what to change and how to coach movement and running, teaching children to become physically competent in running and fundamental movement skills.
